my diy velvet face cream.

As I’ve mentioned briefly here, I am LOVING using essential oils.  Back in September, I purchased a starter kit from Young Living and seriously, have used them every. single. day.  From concocting lotions, to my own cleaning potions, mixing different diffusing oils, using recipes to keep us healthy … I cannot get enough of these!

I’ve been taking more conscious steps to eat healthier, live healthier, just BE healthier for almost a decade now.  Within that process, going “natural” with everyday products has been only a given.  Except … I’ve been terrified of using natural products on my face.  I know, I know, it sounds contradictory but there is a reason.  In my early 20s, I struggled finding a balance for clear skin until I finally found one brand from the drugstore that kept my skin healthy but – it wasn’t in any means natural.  Anyways, all this yaddity-da to say, once I bought these oils I decided to take the plunge.

Since I started, it’s been a bit up and down as:

1. my skin was used to the other product that I was using

2. I had to find the right balance of moisture for my skin

3. I went from breastfeeding to stopping breastfeeding … all hormones have been wacky

But FINALLY … I think I’ve found a good balance for me and I want to share it with you!

PINDIY Velvety Face Moisturizer

what you’ll need:

. 6 drops frankincense essential oil

. 6 drops lavender essential oil

. 1 cup coconut oil

. 1/2 teaspoon vitamin e oil

It’s so simple.  All you do is put each ingredient into a bowl, put the blender on and whip up for about 5 minutes.  That’s it!

If you take the plunge and give it a whirl, let me know how it goes for you!

Calista - Ooooh, I love this idea! I use straight coconut oil on my face, but I love the idea of adding oils to it. Thanks for the recipe!ReplyCancel
