It’s been a while since I posted what books I am currently learning from, challenging my opinions with, gleaning from, and just plain enjoying!  Different seasons bring out different interests

goals + grace + 5 ways i like to call it a day

At the start of the year, I had written down some (maybe?!) lofty goals/habits of what I wanted to see change and shape in my day to day rhythms.  Then, after all that happened with Elkan, some of

hello, optimistic week.

You know those weeks your to-do/project list is teeming over a single page, but you are still hopeful you can accomplish each item listed??  Yea … that is my week with the optimistic

what october taught me.

So long, one of my favorite months.  October, you were splendid this year … showing off with your beautiful colors and wonderful weather.  Not a month goes by that I don’t learn

hello, promise of a slow week.

I’m looking forward to this week as 1. we have no wild plans and 2. (because of reason number one)  we can just go with the wind!  I LOVE hosting and having set events, but there’s

mornings.

If there is one thing about me that has never really changed, it would be that I am not a morning person.  Sure, I can function (for the most part) and operate just fine (in my opinion), but come

hello, slow-rhythmic week.

For the first time in forever *cue Frozen soundtrack*, I am anticipating a week that might actually have a bit of a rhythm.  Since our new employee started and our crazy May was in effect, we have

home.

Anybody that has moved before, I’m sure has uttered these very same words, “I am never moving again!”.  As I speak those words, I truly hope that is the case for us.  The property

happy weekend.

This is such a great visual to remind me to breath. No weekend plans?  Need something for mother’s day?  Look no further than here.  Or maybe here. Once peaches are back in season, gotta try

our [lately] in pictures.

Lately, it’s been quiet here, but pretty loud in our day-to-day life.  Firstly, since having the freedom to drive, we’ve been getting OUT to say the very least!  Additionally, as I

what march taught me.

1. I LOVE the show Fixer Upper like nobody’s business.  There, I said it. 2. Being able to drive is a privilege I never want to take for granted.  Not driving for 6 weeks reminds you of

hello, hockey week.

Besides last night, every evening this week consists of hockey (of sorts).  Matt is in 2 tournaments until Sunday and there’s also a Flames game he is going to one of the nights.  I feel a bit

bedside picks.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared what’s been on my reading list.  Though there have been more on the list in between, it is largely due to the fact that it took me a while to

the written note.

Especially after a giving season, it’s a high priority to get my thank you cards written soon after.  Otherwise, the list and extra cards just end up sitting (sorry to those few individuals

hello, sublime week.

I’ve just got this feeling … this week is going to be good one!  No signs of sickness, we’re pretty much caught up on the back-log of schedule/appointments, temperatures each day

hello, robust week.

Goodness knows how happy I am to start this week … healthy!  We take for granted every single day that we are in pretty good health.  Then, we get sick for a couple days and our appreciation

somedays.

Somedays are a lot easier than others.  Today, was not in the category of such.  We got a stomach bug which isn’t/wasn’t too too bad, but the boys were definitely not themselves today.

hello, yay it’s christmas week!

I cannot believe we are finally here … the week of Christmas!  Almost all my gifts are wrapped (pretty good for me, as it’s usually not done until Christmas Eve) and I only have one gift

happy weekend.

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE! Only slightly excited about this!  Having the boys be so excited about the little things – like snow! – makes me love celebrating this season even more.

1. how is this little guy looking so old these days?! 2. my guys. 3. ‘yukon’ laugh at this picture, as there really is no other point except to show what kind of truck we have. 4. tree

hello, open-ended week.

Our plans this week were initially to get ready to go camping this long weekend … and regretfully, we never booked a campsite <face palm>.  So, right now, it’s looking like we will

hello, intentional week.

No … that does not say “international week” how I so wish it did!  Oddly, I’ve been feeling the wanderlust in amongst my nesting/stay-at-home feelings.  It’s so weird

hello, blithesome week.

It’s been super nice to have our cousin here this week … I’m feeling carefree with the schedule and with some of the plans we’ve talked about, it’s looking like

hello, dog days week.

In the loft apartment I lived in above my café, there was one tall wall that I wanted to paint with some impact.  The color I found was called dog days and I loved it so much … so much so, that

what july taught me.

As much as I like to look at a month and project what my goals and plans are, I also like to recap and remember what a month enlightened me with (I think I am addicted to documenting things!).

hello, exciting week.

This week some very good friends of ours are getting married!!  Matt and Judah are in the wedding party and even though it’s not our wedding, I feel like we should have the week off of all

There will never be too many books I can read!  Especially being away the other week, I felt “re-kindled” to my love of reading (though not with a ‘kindle’ but paper book

hello, summery week.

I’m so happy to be home.  Home really is the nicest word there is (thanks Laura Ingalls Wilder).  When we get away, I feel like it gives me a new appreciation for the home/comforts/setup we

dear sandpoint, idaho … [once again] i’ll be back

It’s hard to believe that we are on this end of our trip already.  Time did it’s funny thing again, and what hours could feel long also felt super short … making it seem like we had

happy week and a bit.

So, it’s here … the event we’ve been anticipating since we got home last year … Idaho, here we come! May you all have colorful summer weeks and I’ll be back soon to

our [yester]day in pictures.

Yesterday was good.  The weather started off perfectly – cool enough in the morning to drink coffee on the patio, and warm enough with the perfect breeze around lunch to mid afternoon to hang
